I.
President De Mare opened the meeting by asking the question “what
can we do to make PASF Stronger?”
·
We need to have our area
representatives come with the consensus of their areas.
·
The individuals representing the areas
must me strong, diplomatic and well informed of both the PASF issues and
the issues of the areas they represent.
·
The representatives must return to
their areas and make certain the countries in their area are brought up
to date on the meetings and actions needed form the meetings.
II.
The Minutes of the last meeting were accepted
III.
The Treasurer’s report was accepted
IV.
The importance of the future Pan Am Classes and the discussion on
how to work with ODEPA became to focus of the meeting. Based on the
feedback from the MNA Forum, the Executive discussed the impact of using
only Olympic Classes. The Executive explored the possible number of
entries using all possible combinations of member countries of PASF and
the classes they would likely sail in. Numbers as low as 38 and reaching
up to 78 were examined. Obviously for the sport of sailing this is not
the way we want to go. It was felt that if we were forced to use only
Olympic Classes and the requirement of 5 entries to constitute a class
were maintained the Executive felt that the possible entries for 2011
would be:
RS:X Men
RS:X Women
Laser
Laser Radial
Tornado
Women’s Keelboat (if changed from the Yngling)
V.
It was felt that a questionnaire should be developed and
circulated prior to the MNA Annual General Meeting in 2007 so we would
know exactly which countries would enter each class.
VI.
Having no more business the meeting was adjourned so the
President could get ready for sailing. |
